Atlus is undertake to get rid of the pauses and lightning delivery common to Japanese localisations, by tailoring character animations in order to match English voice acting performances.
This past Monday, we reported that
Michelle Ruff is playing the role of Katherine McBride, the steady girlfriend of protagonist, Vincent, in Atlus upcoming horror-cum-puzzle adventure,
Catherine. Michelle Ruff joins Troy Baker and Laura Bailey, rounding out the
game's main cast of Katherine, Vincent and Catherine.
Although voice actors are still need to meet certain
timing requirements, voice actor Michelle Ruff told Siliconera Atlus that she is already manipulating some animations.
"I had to match basic timing on scenes but my Katherine's mouth was
being animated to my performance in some of those scenes. In some of them, she was animated already and I had to sync my performance." Said by Michelle Ruff.
Catherine, which combines
action and puzzle gameplay with life-sim style drama, is due to release
Catherine English version in the US on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in summer. It topped the charts on release in Japan, but had to be tempered by a
difficulty patch.
