Riot Games have launched a new Co-op vs. AI game mode for their free-to-play multiplayer action-RTS game League of Legends as they promised last two month ago. Here are some fun details of the ...
League of Legends have announced a brand new game mode which feature the co-op gameplay. League of Legends is based-on, and developed by some of the team that create a mod for Warcraft 3 called
Defense of the Ancients(DotA). This psuedo RTS/RPG hybrid features a champion character that summons creatures, uses spells and items, as well as other ablities to conquer opposing champions. The game is as much strategy as it is action, and loot plays a big part in the addictive nature of the gameplay.
The Reason of Making A Co-op vs. AI Mode
Players have been requesting better bots for some time now. Riot always knew they could improve upon the bots which introduced at launch. Once Riot had improved the bots to a level where they could give even experienced summoners a fun and challenging game, there was an opportunity to build a new mode around these new bots.
Two Goals of League of Legends Co-op vs. AI
1. Riot want to create a less intimidating environment - supported by matchmaking - where new summoners can improve their skills and knowledge of League of Legends.
When the developer released the Battle Training tutorial a few months ago to improve the way that introduce new players to the game.
Co-op vs. AI represents the next step in that effort. Riot believe it will serve well as a steppingstone for new summoners to prepare themselves for the thrill of
PvP competition. Beginner difficulty bots are intended for players who are just learning how the game works, while Intermediate bots should provide a fun challenge for low to mid ELO players.
2. Riot want to create a more "fun" experience for seasoned summoners who wish to test different champions and builds, and who want to play with less experienced friends.
While they've made a number of significant improvements to the
bot AI, the developer don't expect high skill players to have much trouble defeating them. however, anticipate those players will have much more fun battling the new bots than the old ones. Riot also makes it easy to play with friends of widely varying skill level without any concerns about ELO rating.
