343 Creative director Frank O'connor has revealed that if they restart the Halo Wars 2's development plan in the future, Kinect technique will be the best choice that they consider using.
According to
343 Industries creative director
Frank O'Connor, the RTS
Halo Wars 2 spin-off could have a future home using Microsoft's Kinect technology.
The Halo Wars' fans have been patiently awaiting an announcement from
343 industries for a long time. The original game was a fresh take on the genre for console, The first and only RTS games have a
functional control system that urged fast paced gameplay and pinpoint controls. Recently, Fran O'Connor sat down for an interview where he touched on the subject of a Halo Wars 2 game.
O' Connor said that Halo Wars was a "huge success" in the interview, "it's a bigger success than we expected,". Despite that success, hinted at the possibility of a Halo Wars 2 in the future.Though, he did note that the team is not currently working on a sequel for the 2009 strategy game.
"In that regard it was a huge success but is the will to do a sequel there? Who knows. We could do something that works on
Kinect, for example. There's no will against it but we're not working on it right now." "We take risks in the universe and we always have done over the last ten years," he added. "The new novel explores the Forerunner universe which was originally a mystery and it goes deep, it explores it pretty fully.
O'Connor also pointed to Halo Wars as a "successful example" of one of the many experiments Microsoft has done in the Halo universe. Would you be down for a motion-controlled revisiting to the Halo Wars style of gameplay at some point in the future?
